Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted. We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

To Whom it May Concern,
My name is Iris Blume. I am a mate and a mom. My entire family was left at a pound a week ago with plans to have us euthanized. Thankfully, the pound called Dachshund Rescue of Houston, and they were able to have the means to save us. My family has been broken up. My mate and puppies are each in their own foster homes, but I am so thankful they are safe. The thought of my babies and mate being put down is so frightening. I will never be able to thank DRoH enough for saving me and my family. I will never be able to thank each person that has donated to the Rescue so they had the ability to save my entire family. God bless you with doggies kisses, Iris More about Iris BlumeGood with Dogs, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Adults, Likes to be in your lap, Timid, Skittish, Affectionate Iris Blume's baby girl, Daisy (Sasha) Blume (adopted) can also be seen on our website.
