Sammy Topaz

Good morning. I'm mustering the strength to tell you that Sammy died this morning. It happened quickly. It's hard. I'm not exaggerating when I say he was the backbone of the family.    RIP dear friend.

Sarah Weiman

A fond memory from a life well lived -

On April 28, 2011 "this little nugget officially became a Weiman. She has been such a delight and we are so very grateful to have her in our lives. Thankful that Dachshund Rescue of Houston rescued this girl at the age of 7 and allowed us to make her part of our family. She's a girlie girl through and through."

Now lovingly embraced over the Rainbow Bridge by those who have gone before.

Scooby

Our sweet Scooby passed over the rainbow bridge on Tuesday. He was part of the Scooby Doo Gang rescued back in 2010. We got him in July of 2011. He’s had pretty bad COPD the last year or so due to his earlier heartworm infestation, but managed well by meds. He was a sweet boy but it was time to end his pain.

Shay

Thank you Jesus for the gift of Shay.
To call her "just a dog" would be to miss the point entirely. She was a family member, a best friend, my first girl dachshund, my very first adopted dog from Dachshund Rescue of Houston, and the keeper of our hearts. I was blessed to be her mama for nearly 15 of her 16 years.

Looking back, it’s hard not to feel the weight of sadness. But as I think about all the things I loved about her, I am reminded of the words of Dr. Seuss: "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened."

There will never be another dog quite like Shay. She will forever have a piece of my heart with her.
Run free Shay Shay and say hi to your brother Ziggy, sister JoJo and brother Everett who all went before you. Tell them we still love them and talk about them too.

Snickers, aka Reece

Reece (formerly Snickers), who I rescued with you in 2014, has passed away. We had a wonderful 10 years with him; he was very much a part of our family. We are so thankful for his life and the years we got together.

RIP sweet Reece
