Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted. We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Can you believe I was once a stray wandering the streets of Pasadena, TX? When my foster mom scooped me up, I wasn’t looking (or feeling) my best - but oh boy, did I bounce back fast! With a lot of love, some cozy spots, and the right nutrition, I’ve blossomed into the spunky, confident, affectionate girl I was always meant to be.
I’m a dachshund mix with a big personality packed into my small body. I adore cuddles (bonus points if I can curl up in your legs for a nap), and I have a playful side that shines when I’ve got toys or zoomies to get out. I've really enjoyed going on outings with my foster mom - coffee shops, small dog parks, some neighborhood bars, etc - and love car rides! I promise I’ll keep you laughing and smiling every single day.
I’ve made lots of doggy friends in foster care - my foster brothers are a 70 lb labradoodle and a 35 lb beagle mix, and I think they’re the best! I also pal around with two big shepherd mixes, so don’t let my size fool you. I can keep up with the big kids. While I’d love a home with another dog to play with, it’s not a dealbreaker. I haven't been around cats since being in foster care, and I can't tell my foster mom how I feel about them, so she can't guarantee if I jive with them or not at this point in time (but something tells her I'd be just fine).
I’m still learning the ropes with potty training. Apartment life means I don’t always get outside as fast as I’d like, but I’m good about using pads when needed. A yard would be a nice bonus, but all I really need is someone patient and excited to keep teaching me. My ideal family will also be excited to continue teaching me my basic obedience skills. I’m eager to learn and full of love to give in the process.
So… what do you say? Want to make me part of your forever family? I’ll be your snuggle buddy, your playmate, and your biggest fan...all wrapped up in one adorable little package.
