Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Hi, I'm Ian! My foster mom affectionately calls me Ian the Meatball because I'm a bit on the thicker side. I think I'm just big boned. Foster mom and dad tell me that I'm a soft and cuddly boy. I love to be where my people are. Better yet, on top of my people. I'm the definition of a lap dog! I follow my people from room to room to make sure I don't miss out on any of the action. I happily greet visitors. Most of them are willing to pet me so it's easy to make friends. I'm a real likeable guy. I'm not sure why I ended up in the shelter but I'm sure it was no fault of my own. I'm thankful to DRoH for pulling me out of that scary place. My foster mom and dad make me feel welcome with regular meals and comfy beds. I even have 3 four legged foster siblings who look a lot like me but they are different colors and a two legged little human foster sibling. I like them all. The little human always smells like baby food and formula so I'm happy to let her pet me. I lick her hands to help her wash up. (Close supervision of child and dog interaction is a must in any household) I go potty in the grass and get a mini milk bone each time I do my business. I really have the hang of this potty training stuff! I have only pooped inside once (on accident, wink wink). I really like laying in my crate when the door is open. I just watch everybody go back and forth doing their thing in the house. My foster mom thinks I feel safe in there. If they close the door though, I want a treat to enjoy inside my crate. Sometimes if I'm really comfortable laying in bed and somebody tries to move me, I will grumble at them so that lets you know I don't want to be moved. I do ask nicely to be picked up and put on the couch next to you. I don't really have the hang of this ramp thing they keep trying to get me to use. I'm smart though, I'm sure I'll figure it out soon enough. I like walking on the leash with a harness around my body. That is super fun. I also surprised my foster parents by sitting on command. They didn't know I already knew how to do that! Yay me!! They feed me on the other side of the baby gate from the other dogs because I like to go sniff in their bowls and they don't like that. I would love to find my forever home soon. Could that be you?
