Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Meet Wilbert! Or Bert as his foster parents call him. They've also been known to call him a "typical dachshund", "silly dog", and "naughty puppy", but mostly it's Bert. He's an adorable two-year-old miniature dachshund that is full of puppy energy. He loves to play with his foster fur brother and toys until he happily falls asleep under a blanket. Bert's absolute favorite thing to do is follow his foster dad wherever he goes, including sadly laying on the kitchen floor while his foster dad is cooking, until his foster mom caves and brings a dog bed into the kitchen. Bert is a master at getting a blanket wrapped around himself, likes to wrestle during play time, and adores treats. He has started to learn what walks are and is getting better every day at walking on a leash, though he's decided that he'd rather stay close to his people instead of exploring. Bert has mastered using a ramp to get on and off the couch, and knows not to go up and down stairs without being carried. He has also been good in a kennel at night and when his foster parents leave the house during the day. Bert is a silly pup who is starting to thrive with some rules at his foster home. He hasn't had a chance to meet any cats or kids at his foster home, so we're unsure how he would do with either. If you're looking for a sweet pup to call your own, look no further! Apply to adopt Bert today!
