Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Rama (pronounced Rahmah) is a beautiful, one-year old standard size female. She has gorgeous dark eyes and a shiny black and tan smooth coat. Although timid at first, Rama loves people and is eager to please. She is very smart, and is quickly learning the rules of her foster home by listening to her foster people and copying her dachshund foster brother. She loves to have her belly scratched and will happily sit with you for long periods. If you are busy working, she will lie at your feet or stretch out on her dog bed nearby. Rama is house trained and will happily do her business in the backyard. She does not seem to have any food aggression issues, but needs set meal times. Although she is not fond of her crate, she is working on crate training at bedtime.  Rama's favorite thing is fetching a tennis ball or toy. She loves to go after the ball and bring it back for another round. If you throw the tennis ball outdoors, she loves to run at full speed and show off her skills. Rama would do well in a home with a small yard where she can run and play. She is easy going and relaxed in the house, but has lots of energy for playtime  She would love to have a dog companion to romp and pounce with so one about her size or larger would be best. She would do well with a single person or a family with older kids. Rama is a great dog and will be a blessing to the lucky forever family who chooses her.
