Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Ivan is a beautiful, sleek bodied, red male.  He is Ivy League material.  Not knowing his circumstances of hard ship would lead him to the loving arms of a rescue, Ivan was timid and scared but within a few days of receiving  love, a warm bed, some good food he was more than willing to come slowly out of his shell and accept human contact again. Ivan was accepted immediately by our pack and loves to play with his 4 new found dog mates.  He is interested in toys and shows great promise to becoming a champion pet for some lucky family who can give him the kind attention he needs.  There is nothing about Ivan that isn’t positive.  He likes to be held, he is comfortable in a kennel at night by your bedside or with the other dogs in another room.  He likes his safe space and will go stay comfortably on his mat or in an exercise pen.  No excessive barking or jumping from this gentleman.  Ivan will be treated for some health issues and after being fully vetted will be ready to accept his responsibilities of giving happiness to his forever home.  Seriously he is a diamond to be loved and treasured.  Ivan loves his belly rubs and his ears perk up with joy when you offer a break outside in the sunshine.  Wide open spaces are a little overwhelming for Ivan but while in foster care he will be able to learn to enjoy running in a fenced backyard with his buddy.  Ivan will also be leash trained. His house training looks like its easily completed by the time he is ready for a new forever home.  If you’re looking for something “special” Ivan should definitely draw your attention and consideration
