Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Hi, I'm Ranger. And I'm just a little boy. In fact my birthday was June 28,2015. I know this because I was born into Dachshund Rescue. My rescuers took care of me and my siblings for a couple of months. Then it was time for me to make it on my own, basically I had to leave the nest. But it wasn't that hard. I've gotten to experience so many things. I love playing in the backyard, my favorite thing is to run through the ground cover. I also get to go on walks a few times a day, which I hear I am doing much better at. I don't even bark at other dogs, even when they bark at me. I am being taught how to potty like a big boy, whew that one is probably the hardest of all, but I think I'm making progress. Also, I have two Foster brothers, and gosh I just love playing with them. I also love playing with toys - any toy, every toy. Sometimes my brothers don't want to share with me, but I just back off, after all they are older than me (although not bigger) Which by the way, if you can't tell from my photos, I have an interesting family tree. My mom was a 15 lb. dachshund but had a bit taller legs. My dad, well I never got to meet him, but I think he was a very smart, very athletic guy. How do I know this, because I am super smart. Really, I am. I'm learning things at triple the speed of my foster brothers. Even though I am so hungry, I've learned how to sit and wait for the signal to start eating. I can also sit and wait before going in or out of doors. Pretty much anything you want to teach me, I would love to learn, because I'm so eager to please. Will you be the family that takes me home and teaches me new stuff? I'm looking forward to having a full time family that is all my own. I promise to love and obey you for my whole life.
