Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted. We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.
Patches is a beautiful long hair mini and is settling in with his two new dachshund foster brothers. Although he's a little smaller, he's finding his place in the pack. He is practically 100% house-trained and has very good manners, always going to do his business outside, or on his pee pads. He's discovered the joy of Kong treats (peanut butter is his favorite flavor!) and enjoys gnawing on a hoof treat. During the day, he stays gated in the laundry room and as long as he has some treats he doesn't have much separation anxiety - but leave the door open and let him look out the gate please! Patches does need some leash lessons, but he's small and manageable and is getting used to walking with the pack. He is small and fast, and not afraid to run so we keep him on a short leash. He barks a little when encountering new people or strangers, but quickly makes friends and isn't a yappy dog by any means. He loves to curl up in your lap after dinner and watch TV or chill out next to you while napping. At night, he sleeps crated and has never cried or whimpered one little peep! Patches is the perfect apartment dog, and is a great "little" dog that will charm you with his long luxurious hair and the twinkle in his eye.
