Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Meet Tucson!
Tucson is a handsome 6-year-old, 13 lb long-haired piebald dachshund with a heart as sweet as his looks. This gentle boy has limited vision (he’s completely blind in one eye and can only partially see from the other, likely just shapes and colors). But don’t let that fool you, Tucson gets around beautifully and enjoys life to the fullest!

He especially loves squeaky toys, since he can hear them and follow the sound with joy. Because of his limited sight, he may startle if approached too quickly and could become defensive, so a calm, understanding home without small children would be best. Tucson also needs to be watched carefully around pools or other potential hazards, but with just a little extra attention, he does wonderfully.

What Tucson gives in return is priceless - he’s incredibly sweet, snuggly, and happy. This special boy just needs a family who understands his needs and will love him for the amazing companion he is.
