Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted. We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Meet Tucker! Tucker is a 4-year-old, 15-pound, short-haired male with a playful spirit that keeps his foster parents on their toes. A true Dachshund at heart, he has a love for ball fetching and has already claimed several chew toys as favorites, though soft, stuffed, squeaky toys don’t stand a chance! Smart and observant, Tucker will alert you to any unusual sounds, whether inside or outside the home. He is house trained, crate trained, and leash trained, making him a well-mannered companion in many ways. Tucker is deeply loyal and protective, keeping a close eye on his humans and following them wherever they go. He is clever and sometimes a bit stubborn, so his adopter will need to be equally strong-willed, patient, and consistent. While Tucker is a loving and devoted pup, his strong personality means he can sometimes react with a snap if pushed too far, so he is best suited to a home where his boundaries are respected. With the right guidance and understanding, Tucker is a devoted companion ready to bring joy and laughter to his forever family.
