Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Reeses is a beautiful dark chocolate color short hair female Dachshund with tan markings. Think peanut butter cup and you will have a perfect idea of the coloring of her shiny, soft fur. This sweetie has embarked on a weight loss journey with measured meals and no extra treats or snacks of people food. Her foster parents are proud of her success so far and Reese just loves the verbal praise and encouragement. She is enjoying several short walks every day as she builds up her endurance. Reeses is very attentive and eager to please. She keeps track of her people and notices when someone is missing. While she has not exhibited separation anxiety, she is very excited to greet you when you return. This is an intelligent seven year old pup who learned the use of the doggy ramp to the sofa on her second try. Reeses is house trained, understands what the word “Outside” means. She will go to the back door and quickly potties when she reaches the grassy area. She has gotten along very well with her two foster dog brothers, but has not been very interested in playing toys with them, yet. She is very calm and not the least bit aggressive. Reeses will make a welcome addition to any family.
