Roxy needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping her get a new start?

Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Roxy is a sweet, energetic 10 year-old pup that is looking for a new home through no fault of her own. She gets along well with other dogs and is respectful of their toys and habits. Roxy is extremely food motivated and is learning how to "sit" and wait to be invited to go out the door. She gets so excited to walk she sometimes forgets to let he leader go out first! She does patiently wait to be leashed because she knows what that means!
Her appetite is excellent and she gobbles down her food at an alarming rate. A "slow feeder" might be a good idea. She is house-trained and sleeps through the night in a cage with no problem. She does get a bit anxious when caged when her people leave as she chews up her bedding. Clearly she likes to be around people and has never met a stranger. She's not so receptive to cats and squirrels are a menace that causes her distress, like most pups.
As you can tell from her pictures she is a mixed breed, but definitely has lot of hound in her. Look at that jawline! She enjoys snuggling in your lap, although at 23 pounds she's a bit bigger than she thinks. No one who has met her believes she is 9. She has lots of puppy energy and is extremely affectionate. She has a smooth, soft coat that begs for stroking and gives kisses when allowed.
Roxy is one great pup who deserves lots of attention in this new part of her life. Are you that family?
