Please note:  Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted before going public .  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Sweet little lady with a Southern name! Okra is the sweetest and gentlest little dachshund! She is cautious when meeting new people, and it takes a while to earn her trust, but once you do, she will follow you around and loves being pet and cuddling in your la­p. She enjoys being in the backyard and chasing squirrels or the occasional cat that wanders in. How­ever she is most con­tent by your side and can easily sleep the day away. She does not bark at people on walks but is sti­ll getting used to the leash.
