Please note:  Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted before going public .  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Augie is the sweetest, most loving dog. He is very affectionate and really wants to please.​ He will put his head in your lap, and sometimes his 2 front paws, and stay there as long as you are willing to pet him. He is very intelligent and learned how to use the doggy door in 1 day. For the first day or two, he marked a few times, but now that he's settling in, that has stopped. Now that he's learned the doggy door, he goes in and out to potty with no trouble.​ He gets along great with other dogs and is very patient with my more assertive dog.​ He is being crate trained and only whines for a few minutes at night when he is crated to sleep.​ He is very curious and loves to explore and get into things. He likes toys but hasn't demonstrated any chewing yet.​ This morning, we discovered that he likes to fetch! He is a very playful, fun, goofy dog. He would be a great dog with a family, with an existing pet or on his own with someone who will give him all the pets and love he wants.​ ​
