Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Hi humans! I’m Connie. Yes, I know the name is funny for a dog! I joined my foster family several weeks ago and immediately felt at home. I am very sweet, loving and loyal to my foster mom. I just want to be with her and cuddle with her all the time so I follow her around quite a bit. I have another canine sister that looks just like me, except she is thinner. I guess I need to watch my girlish figure! I don’t mind her at all and we even share a cuddly dog bed. My human family takes me on a walk twice a day. I like the leash and stay close by, but when I see a lizard, I get so excited and want to play with this small creature. I’m a very good eater and enjoy my breakfast and dinner. I love to go on leisurely walks a couple of times a day and I’m very obedient (except when those lizards come around!) I LOVE the sun and sometimes just decide to sunbathe while out for a walk. I promise if you adopt me then I will love you and will roll over so you can scratch my belly anytime. And then we will be forever best friends. I’m learning to sleep in the crate at night but I don’t really enjoy it because I miss my humans. And when they let me out of the crate, I get so excited that I do a song and dance. I’m so excited that I squeal and sing in a high pitched voice (I hope they like my singing) and then I do a little jig. I just love being around them. Speaking of humans, I also have a foster dad and big brother. I love them too, and often sit on their lap and cuddle. But sometimes I am a bit jealous when they come close to my human mom. I’m afraid they will hurt her so I lunge at them to scare them away. I only do this when they come around too fast, because it also scares me. Most of the time, though, I’m not threatened. I know they love me and when they talk to me when they’re around my human mom, it makes me happy so I don’t try to scare them away. I’m learning so much at my foster house and am so proud of myself. When my human mom gets the leash, I go to the door and sit before she tells me to. I know what’s coming so I try to behave on my own so I can go out faster. And then I get to chase the lizards! I am looking forward to my forever home and to cuddling and loving with new humans. I promise that if you adopt me, I’ll always love on you, too!
