Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Hi future adopter! I am so blessed to be able to foster Hope during this 'stay at home' time. She is a constant reminder to be hopeful.Hope is a sweetheart, loving and a joy to be around. You will fall in love with her. She is always happy, and wags her tail like crazy whenever I talk to her. It's very difficult to take a picture of her because every time I bend down, she walks towards me to be close; she loves contact. She sometimes gets excited and jumps up on me; this is something we are working on by learning the 'sit' command. I can leave Hope on the ground floor and spend time on another floor of my house; she stays quiet and just camps out in her crate. She cries a little when I go out, but I think it's not for long. When I come home, even if it's after a few minutes, she greets me like I've been gone for ages. I know she would do the same with you. Hope loves to have her belly rubbed, and shows her pleasure by closing her eyes.Hope is great on walks. She stops whenever she sees a dog in the distance, and remains still and quiet as the dog walks by. I don't know what this means yet as we are keeping our distance at this time. It might mean she's not comfortable with other dogs, as she stays very close by me. Like most dogs, Hope perks up when a squirrel or bird is in sight, but remains quiet. She is a wonderful dog; you'd be lucky to have her in your life!
