Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Julie Cinema came into DROH when a good Samaritan found her nursing two puppies under a building. Several weeks later the poor girl has added meat to those protruding ribs and life to her eyes. She has been an excellent mother to her pups and is very nurturing.

Julie is sweet natured but strong willed. She seems to be house-trained (when you pay attention to her) and has a good appetite. She is not fond of most dog treats, so her foster has had to resort to people food for med administration. She does eat her kibble well. Julie has displayed a fun side in playing with her pups and will probably like chew toys when her mother duties end soon. She enjoys hanging out with her foster brother and seems like she would blend right in with a  pack.

Julie is a true wire-hair dachshund. Her coat is beginning to grow in nicely after diverting nutrients to her puppies. It is a bit on the coarse side like most wire hairs. Her coloring is an unusual blend of cream and white. Julie is a social girl who enjoys the company of her foster brother and visitors to her foster’s home. She appears to be good on the leash, but for now only wants to go to the end of the block and return to check on her pups. Julie is an outstanding guard dog. She is very verbal and alerts the house to noises, other animals or people on the street. She even barks to let you know she needs to go out…even if it is 2AM!

Julie is an affectionate girl and will make someone a wonderful companion once her puppy duties are done.
