Please note:  Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted before going public .  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Some of us know love and rescue from the moment we are born as is my case.    My mom and I were brought into a loving foster home when I was only 3 weeks old.     I found that after I was weaned my mom had to go to another home so she could find a forever home, too.    I was left here to find my way.    Thanks to the help of a 4 pack of older dachshunds I found it to be amazing to chase leaves and run after my much older bigger pack.   They helped me to know that bathroom business goes outside; eating is on a schedule and quiet time at night a blessing for us all.    I am full of energy so a yard full of grass is so interesting but I still stay pretty near my human.    She feeds me and when I have accidents she tends to my needs and gives me great smelling food made especially for puppies.    It’s a good life here but I know that my forever family is out there waiting on me.   Every dog needs a special place and I am looking for mine.    My uncle Freedom is even helping me with teething and puppy biting so when I go I’ll have a few manners.    If you’re thinking you could work with me, show me some attention and love I bet we could be bonded for life … just as it should be for every dog.
