Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Lola is a very unique looking lovable dachshund. She has a coat as soft as velvet. She loves to walk and do her business on walks. She's very curious when outside, and will make many attempts to chase those pesky squirrels, so she needs to be walked with a secure harness. She is kennel trained and will easily go in her kennel for some alone time when needed. After being given up by her family, she is still learning to bond and trust with new people. Once she befriends you, she will quickly become very attached. She has had some trouble making friends with her fellow foster doxies, probably because Lola would like all the attention on her. It is important Lola live with a strong owner, who isn't afraid to give her corrections when she misbehaves. Lola wants to please her family, so we think she'll be able to better control her temper around other dogs with training and practice. At this time we are testing Lola as an only dog to see if that is a better environment for her. Continued behavioral training in foster care, will help us learn more about what will be the best long term scenario for Lola. Stay tuned as her journey continues.
