Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Carla is the best dog imaginable! She is sweet, house-trained and enjoys being then center of attention. She was found wandering the streets with another dog that looked a lot like her. She was obviously pregnant and in need of a place to raise her puppies. She was an excellent mother and is now ready to embark on a life of her own!

Carla walks well on a leash and is an excellent eater…sometimes too much so. Her foster Dad is trying to get her to slow down and enjoy her food. Carla’s previous owners did her the disservice of giving her people food and she is having to be broken of the habit of begging for food…although her stamina of sitting “up” is amazing.

She enjoys sleeping being covered up when it’s a bit cool and allows her foster to sleep as late as he wants. She provides excellent home security and will prevent stray cats and squirrels from being a problem. She seems to  like children and the attention they bring. Carla likes every person she has met since coming into DROH’s loving arms.

Carla’s best service is as a couch “cuddle buddy”. She also enjoys a good bone and makes quick work of them no matter their density. Carla gets along very well with other dogs, even those with poor manners…her foster brother refuses to leave her in peace.

After her puppy duty Carla needs a bit of time to get back into top shape, but she has given glimpses of wanting to chase a toy from time to time. Her personality is already in fine form. She’s just waiting for the right family to welcome her in!
