Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Matilda is a very special girl. Fortunate to be born into rescue, she never had to know the life her mom led before her, where she was part of a hoarding home and not treated well. DROH has cared for her since birth, and through our excellent vetting process was able to uncover a condition she has called a "liver shunt." This is a miracle puppy because she went from being severely sick to almost completely healed in just a couple of weeks. Currently, a low protein liver friendly RX diet is all that is required to manage her condition. This incredible puppy has a strong spirit and loves to play, run around, go outside, and when she finally tires out - she'll curl up in your lap and take a long nap. She is fully crate trained and stays in her crate during the day while we're at work. She's been around small children and is very patient with them, occasionally exploring still with her mouth and teeth, but in a fairly gentle way. Matilda uses a doggy door to go in and out of the house. She will potty outside frequently but doesn't always remember to go outside when she has to "go." Matilda is a beautiful black and tan purebred girl with a coat of velvet and markings that could win her top prize at any beauty contest. We hope you will consider opening your home to this incredible little girl. She won't disappoint.
