We have now had Buddy for 6 weeks!  He has warmed up to us a little more each day, learning to trust us.  Buddy has learned his feeding routine and does really well waiting for our other two dogs to get their food first.  He has become a real pro at going "Night Night" or to his crate and is totally crate trained. 

I think the most interesting thing about Buddy is his grooming.  He loves being brushed, and loved his first bath.  In fact he loved his first bath so much he kept going back to the bath tub to check it out.  Now I know you are worried that he would be a nightmare to bathe and then have all that water flinging through your house - but no.  Buddy also loves to be blow dried.  He laid at my feet and put his head on my foot while I dried him.  Honestly, I have never seen this before. 

Buddy is learning to play fetch - or fetch for a dachshund.  You throw it and he comes back a few times.  After the fourth time he is keeping it for himself to play with.  Buddy also loves Nylabones.  We have several in the house he takes with him back and forth to his crate and then to the couch.  He thinks it is fun to roll around on it and scratch his back.

Ultimately, Buddy just wants a nice lap to lay on and lots of attention.  He is the first to greet me when I get home.  He proceeds to dance on his back legs until I pick him up and hug him.  Buddy will be devoted to you for life!
